Leland Jones Orser was born in San Francisco, California, on August 6, 1960. He and his four siblings grew up in Presidio Heights. He attended Cathedral School for Boys in San Francisco.
For the first time, he was introduced to acting in the third grade. He performed Tiny Tim in a school production of ‘A Christmas Carol.’. Leland decided to study acting after graduating from college.
In 1984, he joined the Drama Studio London to hone his acting abilities. After graduation, he made some modeling appearances while simultaneously auditioning for film and television roles.
