Syed Amir Haider Naqvi, better known by his screen name Kamal Amrohi, was a screenwriter, Producer, Director, and Dialogue Writer. He wasJanuary 2121 Jan 1718. He had three marriages. His first wife, Jamnabai, was a maid to Nargis’s mother. He was married to Mehmoodie, his second wife. And last was Meena Kumari, whom he met on the ​sets of ​Tamasha. The two married on February 14 and fell in love. It was a private ceremony, attended only by a few of his friends and family.

They were at the peak of their careers, and all their films, such as Daera (1953), were based on their love stories. Then was written Azaad, Pakeezah, Mother India, etc. In March 1964, these two broke up due to tension in Meena Kumari’s career and some personal reasons. The shooting began in 1958, and the film was released in 1972. Pakeezah turned out to be a fantastic film and was a box office hit.

Razia Sultan (1983) followed Pakheeza. He had begun a film with Rajesh Khanna and Rakhee in lead roles, but it was shelved. And since he was one of the four dialogue writers for Mugal-e-Azam, he had also won the consolation Filmfare Award then. Akhri Mugal was the final movie he wanted to create, but following his death, it went outside of Beeline.

With his second wife, Mehmoodie, he has three children—Taajdaar and  Rand Ukhsaar, respectively, have two sons and one daughter.Razia Sultan (1983) Snd Taajdaar Shandaar died in August 2011. He has no issues with Jaddan Bai and Meena Kumari.

He passed away on 11 February 1193 in Mumbai. He was laid to rest beside Meena Kumari in Rehmatabad Qabristan, ten years after directing her last film, Razia Sultan (1983), and 21 years after his wife’s death. Rukhsaar Amrohi, Kamal’s only daughter, explained his life and incident in newspapers.
